Robert Francis Larmi, 89, of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away on March 27, 2026, after a short illness.

Bob was born on June 25, 1936, in Middlefield, Ohio. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Chemistry from The Ohio State University in 1958, a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State University in 1961, and a Master of Science from Purdue University in 1968. He served as a Captain in the United States Army following participation in ROTC at Ohio State and was honorably discharged.

Bob spent his career with the Warren City Schools District, where he worked as a high school chemistry teacher and faculty manager. Known as a tough but caring educator, he retired in 1989. In recognition of his dedication, he received the Distinguished Faculty Award from Warren High Schools in 2010.

In 1966, Bob married Betty, with whom he shared nearly 60 years of marriage. He was a devoted fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Indians, and the Cleveland Browns, and had a lifelong love of travel. Along with his family, he visited all 50 states and drove to Alaska twice. His practical advice, favorite sayings, and family traditions—especially from years of camping—remain fondly remembered.

After retiring, Bob and Betty moved to Florida in 1992 and made their home in The Villages, where they recently marked 34 years in the community. He enjoyed golfing, puzzles, card games, craft shows, and spending time with family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Betty Larmi; his children, Lisa (David) Mayo and Keith (Annette) Larmi; and his grandchildren, Grace, Lindsay, and Marie Mayo, and Finn Larmi. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A memorial service honoring Bob’s life will be held on Friday, June 12, at 11:00 a.m. at St. George’s Episcopal Church, located at 1250 Paige Place in The Villages. Later that day, a burial service with military honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
