This past week, the U.S. Department of Labor released its May 2026 Employment Situation Report, noting that the economy added 172,000 jobs in May surpassing April’s 115,000 jobs.

Job gains were concentrated in the leisure and hospitality, local government, and health care sectors. I remain committed to workforce growth and ensuring that the government does not become a hurdle to economic development and job creation.
As an owner of a third-generation small business, I understand the importance of empowering America’s small businesses and ensuring jobs remain available for Americans nationwide. I will continue working to remove burdensome regulations and taxes that hinder business growth and restore a smart regulatory framework within which our job-creating businesses are able to effectively operate.
