A wanted man was arrested while sitting at the outdoor bar of a popular restaurant in The Villages.
James Ralph Rayborn, 68, of Steinhatchee, was taken into custody at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at City Fire at Brownwood Paddock Square.

According to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department, an anonymous tipster contacted the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office to report that a man with an outstanding warrant was hanging out at the restaurant’s outside bar area. Dispatchers ran Rayborn’s name and date of birth through a national database and confirmed there was an active warrant for his arrest out of Marion County.
When officers arrived at the scene, they easily spotted Rayborn seated at the bar. He was secured in handcuffs without incident.
The report noted that the active Marion County warrant was for contempt of court regarding a violation of an injunction for protection against domestic violence. Rayborn previously lived in Summerfield.
Rayborn was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center, where he was booked on the out-of-county warrant. He is currently being held without bond.
