A fire-damaged home in The Villages is set to be sold at auction as the result of a foreclosure.

The home, located at 3105 Riverdale Road in the Village of Glenview, was the subject of a deed compliance hearing Friday before the Community Development District 3 Board of Supervisors at Savannah Center.

Owned by Lori Passori, the home sustained a kitchen fire two years ago that sparked protracted insurance litigation. Passori, who has a son living in Summerfield, has not been living at the residence. In her absence, the property has become unkempt, with an unmowed lawn, weeds sprouting up everywhere and shrubs growing into the eaves.

A final judgment of foreclosure for the home was entered in May in Sumter County Court. Court documents show the unpaid principal totaled $230,464. With other fees, property taxes and interest included, she owes a total of $311,693. The home is scheduled to be sold at auction in July.

For its part, the CDD 3 board ordered that the property be brought back into compliance. If it is not brought into compliance, the District will begin maintaining the property at a cost of $250 per occurrence.

The Passori home had been the subject of a previous deed compliance case in 2021 over a boat parked in the driveway. At that time, it was also noted that the grass was overgrown and the utilities were past due.
