A Summerfield woman recently released from prison has been arrested with fentanyl.
A deputy observed 42-year-old Jessica Ann Zylo drive a grey Chrysler 300 away from a residence in the 900 block of Southeast Sunset Harbor Road in Summerfield around 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon seeing a patrol vehicle behind her, Zylo immediately parked on the easement in front of another home on the avenue. She then got out and stood at the locked gate. The deputy parked across the street as she got back into her car, stepped out again and locked the vehicle, the report said.
Zylo proceeded to walk to several other nearby houses without speaking to anyone. The deputy then approached her to ask what she was doing. She stated she was driving the car for a friend and trying to get it to someone’s house in the area, the report said.
When asked for a driver’s license, Zylo advised that hers had been suspended and that she had just gotten out of prison. A check of her driving history confirmed her license had been suspended as of Feb. 7, 2022, and it had been revoked for 60 months due to being a habitual traffic violator, the report said. She was released from prison this past fall, according to the Florida Department of Corrections.
Zylo also had an out on inmate release status for felony driving while license suspended or revoked. She had a prior robbery conviction on Feb. 1, 2018, as well, the report said.
At that point, a K-9 unit responded to the scene and positively alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from Zylo’s vehicle. A search revealed a glass pipe with burnt methamphetamine residue in the driver’s seat. On the passenger seat sat a black pouch containing a case of fentanyl, the report said.
Zylo later claimed the car belonged to a friend, and none of the narcotics were hers. A subsequent search of her purse yielded a scale with methamphetamine residue. She claimed to use it to weigh her medical marijuana, the report said.
She was arrested on charges of driving while license suspended (habitual offender), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of fentanyl. She was booked at Marion County Jail with bond set at $6,000.
