A Wildwood woman was arrested after allegedly firing a gun at a man who took her phone.

A deputy responded to a report of shots fired at an undisclosed Wildwood residence around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, he spoke with 27-year-old Tei’onna Tychelle Veira about the incident.

She advised that the male victim was chasing her in his vehicle, running her off the road multiple times. Once at her residence, she ran toward the front door. The victim followed her, grabbed her and took her phone, the report said.

When Veira tried to get it back, the man pushed her to the ground. They got into a fight over the phone, and he handed it back to her before leaving. She suffered no injuries, the report said.

The deputy next spoke to a witness, who stated Veira called her about being followed by the victim. The witness had seen Veira drive to the residence, where she ran out of her car with the victim chasing behind her. They had a little “tussle,” and the victim took Veira’s phone. It was during this time that Veira grabbed her firearm and shot it, the report said.

Surveillance footage showed Veira speeding down County Road 209 with the victim following closely behind. She drove past the residence before reversing into the driveway. She then got out of her vehicle and ran toward the front of the home, still being followed by the victim, the report said.

He proceeded to grab Veira and push her against a wall. She set her phone down, to which the victim wrapped his arms around her and grabbed her phone before walking to the front yard. She followed him and grabbed him to get the phone back, the report said.

The victim ultimately kept the phone and got back into his vehicle a few yards down the roadway. He then got back out of his vehicle to stand on the side of the road and yell at Veira. She yelled back at him to return her phone, the report said.

The victim subsequently sat in his vehicle, after which Veira reached into her car and armed herself with a gun. She fired a shot before demanding the victim return her phone. He did so, and they argued in the middle of the road before he left, the report said.

Veira was arrested on charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and weapon offense (missile into dwelling/vehicle/building/aircraft). She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center without bond.
