Hayden Lee Durham, 84, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on June 4, 2026.

Born May 21, 1942, in Adrian, Michigan, Hayden lived a life marked by determination, kindness, and a love of people.

As a young man, he worked alongside his mother, Harriet, building yachts for Chris Craft. He later earned his GED, became a financial planner, and in his late forties graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a pharmacy degree, becoming the oldest student in his class. He continued working as a pharmacist until age 80.

Hayden is survived by his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Barbara Durham; his children, David Durham (Diane) and Susan Buckmann (Michael); stepchildren, Brian Lupo (Christy) and Lauren Lupo; and grandchildren David Durham, Autumn Durham, Michael Buckmann, Austen O’Brien, Brody O’Brien, and Reagan O’Brien.

After many years in Fort Lauderdale, Hayden and Barbara moved to The Villages in 2011, where they began what they fondly called their “happily ever after.” A true social butterfly, if he got into an elevator with 5 people he knew them all by the 3rd floor. Known for his gentle spirit and generous heart, he never had a mean bone in his body and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

We will be celebrating Hayden’s life on June 20. While space limitations prevent us from inviting everyone who cared about him, please know how much your thoughts, prayers, and memories mean to our family. In lieu of attending, we invite you to share a favorite memory or photo of Hayden with us.
