University of Florida football legend Steve Spurrier will be making an appearance at the opening of a new Walmart next door to The Villages.
Spurrier will be making a high-profile appearance at Wednesday morning’s grand opening of the new Walmart on County Road 466 in the massive Hammock Oaks development.
Spurrier was a college football quarterback with the Florida Gators, where he won the 1966 Heisman Trophy. He returned to coach the Gators in 1990 and served as head coach through 2001.
Spurrier is not officially partnered with Walmart, but the retailer does sell a wide variety of Spurrier-related merchandise and memorabilia in its stores.
