To the Editor:

Nice article by the staff concerning saving water. I’d like to add one more tip: catch the water in your shower in a bucket while waiting for it to warm up.

It takes about 1 to 1.5 gallons before the water is warm enough for the shower. You can then use that saved water for your plants or fountains. If two people shower once a day, that saves about 1,000 to 1,500 gallons per year. When you multiply that by the number of households in our area, it’s not an insignificant amount!
