David Barrie Reeves, 77, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his home in Webster, Florida, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
David was born in Orlando, Florida, in 1949 to the late Edra and Beulah Reeves of Winter Garden, Florida. He attended Lakeview High School, Lake Sumter Community College, and later served in the Marine Reserves.
David spent most of his life being self-employed in the land clearing and landscaping business and later worked in the sandmine industry, where he retired in 2023.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He had a love for nature. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his lifelong passion was boating and being on the water. He was always ready with a joke or a funny story. Even in his final days, his quick wit was a comforting reminder of the man we all knew and loved.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna; their two sons, Matthew Reeves (Emily) and Jason Reeves (Charlotte); daughter, Amy Rex (Chad); seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Glenda Acton; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Reeves of Ocoee, Florida.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Cornerstone Hospice Villages South for their support and compassionate care.
A visitation will take place at Purcell Chapel on July, 11 2026 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., with service starting at 1 p.m.
