Joan Catherine Pierce Swafford, 82, of Webster, Florida, peacefully passed away on June 24, 2026, in Sumter County, Florida.
Joan was born on December 26, 1943, in Key West, Florida, to Leo Malcolm Pierce and Lauriette Thompson Pierce.
Joan was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Linden. She enjoyed going to the beach, taking cruises, swimming, and spending time with her beloved pug, Daisy Mae, who brought her endless happiness.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John “Larry” Swafford of Webster, Florida; her son, John Swafford of Orlando, Florida; and her brother, John Pierce of Daytona, Florida.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Malcolm Pierce and Lauriette Thompson Pierce, and her beloved son Scott Swafford of Webster, Florida.
A memorial service celebrating Joan’s life will be held on September 1, 2026 at 11am at Linden Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Jonathan Jenkins. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church of Linden in Joan’s honor.
