A 42-year-old native of Mexico was arrested Sunday morning after a traffic stop revealed he had never been issued a driver’s license.
Gilberto Perez Boyzo was driving a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup when he was pulled over by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy near the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 441 and NE 136th Avenue in Lady Lake. The deputy had initiated the stop after observing the truck fail to stop at a posted stop sign before entering the highway.

When the deputy requested a driver’s license, Perez Boyzo admitted that he did not possess one and had never been issued a license in the United States. A check through law enforcement databases confirmed that he had no record of a valid driver’s license in any U.S. state.
Perez Boyzo was taken into custody and transported to the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $500 bond.
