Theodore Winfield Tierney Jr., lovingly known as Ted, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born on February 11, 1937, Ted devoted his life to his family, whom he loved above all else. He and his beloved wife, Joyce, raised their family in Massapequa, New York, where they built a home filled with love, hard work, and lasting memories. In retirement, they fulfilled their dream of relocating to The Villages, Florida, where they enjoyed many happy years together.
Ted was a humble man with a gentle soul whose quiet strength and unwavering work ethic shaped the lives of those around him. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and never sought recognition for his kindness. He will be remembered as a man who was always willing to lend a helping hand, offering his time, compassion, and steady presence whenever someone was in need. His generosity, integrity, and selfless nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Joyce; his loving children, Pamela Tierney, Jill Logan (Scott), and Teddy Tierney (Erica); his cherished grandchildren, Ariana, Cameryn, Kendall, Sal, and Andras; his treasured great-grandson, Theo and his brother Craig Tierney.
Ted’s legacy lives on in the values he instilled in his family-kindness, humility, perseverance, and a willingness to always help others. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
