An 18-year-old Lady Lake woman was arrested after she allegedly used a bottle to smash another driver’s windshield during a confrontation at a gas pump.

The victim had been followed by Carys Phaye Andrews this past Sunday before opting to pull up to a pump at the Mobil station on U.S. Hwy. 27/441, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Andrews got out of her vehicle, followed the victim to the pump, and threw a bottle at the car’s windshield, leaving several large cracks. Andrews then continued her assault on the vehicle by banging heavily on the driver’s side door.

When the victim’s boyfriend attempted to step in and stop the attack, Andrews responded by punching him in the face. She then got back into her vehicle and fled the scene.

Police went to Andrews’ home at 216 Longview Ave. on Wednesday and took her into custody on charges of battery and criminal mischief. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and later released after posting a $2,000 bond.
