A Texas man was arrested Wednesday evening after he was caught speeding in Webster with a suspended driver’s license.

Robert Christin Streets, 43, of Wylie, Texas, was driving a black 2025 Chevy Tahoe southbound on SR 471 near CR 788 when a Sumter County Sheriff’s deputy clocked his vehicle traveling 82 mph in a 60 mph zone, according to an arrest report.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Streets, who was unable to provide a driver’s license from any state. Instead, he handed the deputy a passport card to verify his identity. When asked if he had a valid license, Streets claimed he “hadn’t renewed it yet.”

A computer check conducted by dispatch revealed that Streets’ driving privileges were actually suspended.

Streets was placed under arrest and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was issued a criminal citation for driving with a suspended or revoked license and received a written warning for speeding. He was released after posting $10,000 bond.

The vehicle was turned over to a passenger who was the registered owner and possessed a valid Texas driver’s license.
