A car crashed into a resident’s apartment at a retirement community located right outside The Villages.
The crash occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pebble Springs Retirement Community, located off County Road 466 behind the Saddlebrook Recreation Complex.

The driver of the car initially crashed into a light pole, knocking it to the ground, before ramming through the exterior wall of an apartment.

The Villages Public Safety Department quickly responded to the scene to assess the damage. The driver of the car was taken away by ambulance. It appeared that the roof had been cut off the car to extricate the driver.
The person who lives in the apartment was apparently unharmed but shaken up. Activities were taking place at Pebble Springs at the time, and according to residents, the individual was not inside the apartment when the crash occurred.
Pebble Springs is located at 11750 NE 62nd Terrace and has 128 apartments. Many Villagers have opted to move to Pebble Springs, which is said to have developed a tightly knit group of residents since opening in 2023.
The investigation into the crash has been turned over to the Florida Highway Patrol.
