A problem lawn triggered a public hearing for the home of a 91-year-old Villager.
The home, located at 3296 Atwell Ave. in the Village of Polo Ridge, has been labeled as a “re-occurring violation” due to an overgrown lawn and weeds.

Most recently, a complaint was received June 2 about the property, according to testimony presented by Community Standards in the hearing that occurred Friday before the Community Development District 3 Board of Supervisors at Savannah Center. A complaint had also been received on July 14, 2025, but the property was brought into compliance on Sept. 24, 2025.
George and Joanne Huzor originally purchased the home in 2000. George Huzor, who served in the U.S. Air Force, died in 2006 and was buried at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Joanne Huzor did not appear at Friday’s public hearing. Community Standards has been unable to reach her, although notices of the hearing were sent by certified and regular mail.
She has been granted seven days to mow the grass and remove the weeds on her property. If she fails to do so, the District will maintain the property at a cost of $250 per occurrence.
