It is with profound sadness and endless love that I report, Margaret Fehl (Peggy) Alfree, age 83 passed on May 14, 2026 at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages, Florida. She will be remembered as the definition of beauty and grace and how she lit up every room she entered.
Peggy was born in Wilmington Delaware on October 3, 1942. She graduated from William Penn High School in New Castle, Delaware with a Commercial Diploma and a Special Award of “Outstanding” in her French Language Class.
Peggy was preceded in death by her Father, Herman Otto Fehl, her Mother, Lorraine Carmen Fehl Cary, sister, Lorraine Davis, brother, Ronald Fehl, Mother-in-Law, Eleanor Harrison, brother-in law, Brett Harrison.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Larry, two sons, Larry Jr. and Gregory, daughter-in-law, Maricris and four most wonderful grandchildren, Dana (Jarrod) Gunter, Claire, Nicholas and Ashley, sister, Lois (Bryan Gilbert) Kelly, brother-in-law William (Beverly) Harrison, sister-in-law Roxanne (Larry) Young, brother-in-law Darryl (Donna) Harrison, brother-in-law Bryan Harrison.
Peggy’s career accomplishments were many and happened while raising a family; however, most were as an Administrative and Executive Assistant to many major officers of, Wilmington Trust Bank, in Delaware, Reading School Child Study Team, in New Jersey, American Hoechst Pharmaceutical Claritin Development Team in New Jersey, AT&T CFO in New Jersey and AT&T Central States President in Chicago.
Peggy had a love for the arts, she loved to listen to live music and attend musicals; but, was very humble when it came to her own talents of singing and playing the piano. Golf, tennis, yoga and card games with friends and especially her grandchildren was very special.
Peggy also participated in The Opera Club, Piano Club and Tamarind Grove Social Club. She was Immersed at and became a member of Fairway Christian Church. She attended many of the Bible Study Classes and looked forward to the services each weekend when her health allowed.
Peggy was soft spoken with a very strong personality. She always filled the room with warmth, laughter and the best advice by putting others before herself. She truly loved Life, Family and Friends. Peggy is Special. She will forever, remain in our hearts.
Peggy supported many charities; especially, First Responders, Veterans’ and Children’s Hospital Groups. Donations in Peggy’s memory can be made to any of these Groups.
