Florida Highway Patrol targeting aggressive drivers of cars and trucks

The Florida Highway Patrol’s commercial vehicle enforcement troopers has begun another phase of Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks (TACT), a safety campaign aimed at educating motorists about the dangers of aggressive driving around large trucks and to reduce commercial motor vehicle related crashes.

“The Florida Highway Patrol is committed to keeping our roadways safe for all motorists,” said Col. Gene Spaulding, director of the Florida Highway Patrol. “In order to keep you and your family safe when driving, motorists should exercise extra caution when sharing the road with larger vehicles.”

The TACT campaign runs through March 24. Troopers will be looking for car and truck drivers who display aggressive driving behavior such as following too closely, speeding and unsafe lane changes. Protect yourself, your passengers and others on the roadway and think twice before driving aggressively.
