JAMES “JJ” JOSEPH GALLAGHER, 89, of Belleview, Florida, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2013. He was born August 30, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He joined the Navy at the age of 17, he served in the Pacific on the USS Baltimore during WWII, he served 22 years in the US Navy and US Coast Guard. He then served 45 years in Law Enforcement in Bay County, FL retired from the Bay County Sheriff’s Dept. as Captain in 2008. He moved to Central FL in 2011. He enjoyed the water. He is survived by: Wife: Evona Moore Gallagher of Belleview, FL Step Sons: Anthony Dean Moore( Lynn) of Dothan, AL Alan Danny Moore of Silver Springs, FL Step Daughters: Tammy C. Moore of Belleview, FL Rose Darae Hellwig (Kevin) of Lady Lake, FL 8 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren Funeral Services for Mr JJ Gallagher will be held at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Lady Lake, Fl. On Monday, June 24 at 10:00 AM with Pastor’s Dean Moore & Hubert Bevill officiating. Graveside services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, FL with full military honors conducted by US Coast Guard. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday June 23, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lake Hermosa Church of God, P.O. Box 428, Lady Lake, FL 32158.
