Violet Stangel, of The Villages, Florida passed away on July 8, 2013 at The Villages Hospice House. She was born in Manchester, United Kingdom to Tommy and Ida Hodgson. Violet was a member of the Illinois Club. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, playing cards, and ballroom dancing. Violet is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Stangel, The Villages, FL; her sister, Irene Houghton, England; and nineteen nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services – The Villages, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery to follow.
