Small Business Saturday reminds shoppers of local merchants in Villages

Tired of standing in line? Sick of taking a number?

The doors of small businesses are wide open and they are eager to help you with your holiday shopping.
Saturday has been designated as “Small Business Saturday.”
Paws for a Moment in the Palm Ridge Shopping Plaza at Southern Trace has every thing you need to nurture your pet, inside and out.
“Pets are so special to people here in The Villages,” said Paws for Moment owner Diane Keedy. “We want to help them care for the ones they love.”

That means everything from raw foods seminars, nutrition advice and toys and dress-up items. Watch for an opportunity to have your pet’s photo taken with Santa Claus.
Are you married to a softball fanatic?
Then head on over to Softball’s R Game, also in the Southern Trace shopping plaza.
Owner Marlene Schultz is a softball fanatic, so she understands the game.
The store offers bats, gloves and the equipment that can give your softball player the edge.
Softball’s R Game also offers pickleball equipment.
Small Business Saturday is held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was first observed Nov. 27, 2010.
While Big Box stores pour millions of dollars into advertising campaigns.
