Lt. Gov. Carlos López-Cantera will be subbing for Gov. Rick Scott at the Lincoln Day dinner next month in The Villages.

The event, sponsored by the Sumter County Republican Party, will be at 6 p.m. April 24 at Savannah Center.

Scott, who had previously been announced as the speaker for the event,  had a scheduling conflict.

López-Cantera was well received when he visited with local Republicans last month at Panera at Lake Sumter Landing. (You can read about that visit at http://villages-news.com/new-lieutenant-governor-touts-gov-scotts-record-local-gop/)
