An Update from Villages-News.com
To our much appreciated readership,
Thank you for your continual support of Villages-News.com as we approach our one-year milestone!
A lot has happened over the course of this year – from a “wall” being torn down, to acts of heroism and bravery from our firefighters and law enforcement officials.
We are proud to provide news coverage to The Villages and the communities that it incorporates.
In our efforts to improve our website, we heavily considered the input and feedback we received from our audience. We believe Villages-News.com has the most vocal and engaging audience in The Villages. We thank all of you and assure you that we will continue to provide fair, informative, up-to-the-minute coverage of events and happenings that are pertinent to our community.
Many of you have even been inclined to share your feedback and input with our community through your letters, comments, and stories, and we believe the ideas and opinions of our readership are critical in helping everyone understand our community as a whole.
Many of you have noticed that there are some comments that appear with one name or a nickname. This is an automatic feature which we have worked very hard to amend. Accordingly, in our goal to ensure that all voices are heard and represented accurately, at midnight tonight, Thursday, April 10, we will hide all comments previously displayed in articles written before April 10. New comments will require new logins, none of which will be approved without an accurate first and last name. Furthermore, we are working on email verification for new registers as an additional measure to ensure accountability and accuracy.
We know that the changes we are trying to institute are for the benefit of all of our readers. We hope that you all will continue to read our publication and we thank you for the opportunity to provide news coverage to our community!
Sincerely,
The Villages-News.com
