Ken Williams, retiring store manager for Belk in La Plaza Grande at The Villages was given a special thank you Saturday from The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation.
Over the past seven years, Williams has supported the auxiliary by allowing the volunteers to sell See’s Candy at the store prior to all major holidays. This is one of the many fundraising activities done by the hospital auxiliary volunteers to raise money for our not-for-profit hospital. In the past funds have been donated from this and other endeavors such as the annual Hearts for Our Hospital gala, Ye Olde Thrift Shoppe, and annual cruises to purchase special equipment and tools for the hospital, outfit emergency rooms, and upgrade surgery lighting. At present, the Auxiliary is working to help pay for the multi-million dollar expansion under way at The Villages Regional Hospital.
For information on volunteering at the hospital or in any of the fundraising events contact the Auxiliary office at 352-751-8622.
