A man is in custody after allegedly making a false 911 call.

Patrick Williams, 35, called for emergency services around 10:30 p.m., Sunday and told the 911 call-taker that a home was on fire, a female was locked inside and someone was threatening to shoot him.

Patrol units arrived at the home along S.E. 249th Terrace, Umatilla. There they had a conversation with Williams and he told investigators his ex-girlfriend was living with another man at that home, according to a release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators made contact with the ex-girlfriend and found her to be fine and not being held against her will. There was no fire.

“Three patrol units, a patrol supervisor and numerous fire rescue personnel responded with lights and siren to the incident,” said

Judge Cochran, Marion County Sheriff’s Office Information Public Officer.

Williams was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $3,000.
