James A. Perkins age 84, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Orlando, Florida. He was born in Lake Placid, New York and moved to the Leesburg, Florida area in 2002 from Liverpool, New York. He spent over 30 years in the home insurance industry and retired as a Claims Manager. He attended St. Paul’s Catholic Church, in Leesburg and enjoyed playing golf and was known as a tremendous reader. He will be remembered most for his love of people, and he never met a stranger and was known to strike up conversations at a moment’s notice. He leaves behind to carry on his memory his loving friend and wife of 53 years Rosemary; 3 Sons – James Arthur Perkins, Jr. of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Christopher Joseph Perkins of Clermont, FL; and David Brendan Perkins of Leesburg; as well as 8 Grandchildren. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to: The Veteran’s Benefit Fund at Legacy of Leesburg.
