To the Editor:
The all-time low for meaningless action and lack of accomplishment rests with the 2013-14 (113th) Congress. If we don’t speak up about their poor performance – so they know we are paying attention – we deserve what we get!
For myself, I am going to vote to give the President a Democratic Congress for his last 2 years as president! They can’t be any worse than what we’ve got, and maybe they will work together to get these 10 top things done:
– Providing funds to solve the humanitarian crisis of refugee children.
– Supporting clean energy in all its forms.
– Providing the money to run the government on time, both years.
– Fixing the Veterans Administration’s Health Care System.
– Equal pay for equal work.
– Passing a 3-5 year highway and infrastructure bill.
– Requiring a background check for every firearm sale.
– Protecting women’s health from corporate interference.
– Raising the federal minimum wage to at least $10 an hour.
– Extending emergency unemployment compensation.
