To the Editor:
I don’t know Peggy Klemm from Adam, but I am a part time resident of the Villages and part time resident in the mountains of South Carolina. Not sure what folks who live in the Villages consider “criminal” but being arrested for driving under the influence in a 21 mph golf cart, actually convicted of reckless driving in a golf cart and then subsequently put on probation is assinine enough for me. But then to have a sheriffs deputy arrest a senior woman for having sex after 1000 PM in the town center is an absolute laughing matter. It quickly becomes obvious that: 1) The sheriffs dept sounds like a bunch of mall cops and 2) the DA is bored, and wants the easy convictions. Not sure what the rest of the taxpayers think their county law enforcement officials should be focusing on but where I come from it sure isn’t this stuff. Not when Florida runs rampant with illegal drug offenses, violent crimes and crimes where the public is actually at risk. Ya’ll need to get a life.
