To the Editor:
Two months ago I wrote a letter here criticizing the conditions of Villages golf courses. Tees, fairways and greens were dry, lacking grass and generally in atrocious conditions. However, to be fair I must now write that those conditions have improved dramatically. Of course the abundant rain we have received has been a great help but hopefully a better effort has been made on the part of course superintendents. The courses never will be mistaken for top tier courses but for the price and proximity they provide they are now at an acceptable level IMHO. By the way, I am commenting on Championship courses only as I do not play Execs more than once a week and can’t make a fair assessment of them.
