A 29-year-old man was arrested after an exchange of gunfire Thursday in the 9500 block of SE 170th Place in Summerfield.
When Marion County sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene, they found Patrick Farfaglia and another victim who told deputies they had been attacked by masked men armed with a bat and a firearm at their home in Mobile Home Meadows. They had been able to flee the residence and the attackers, but when they returned a vehicle drove by and the occupants fired at them. Farfaglia returned fire with a rifle, according to Capt. James Pogue of the sheriff’s office.
Another 29-year-old man showed up at a local hospital seeking treatment of a gunshot wound to the face. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Investigation Unit believes he was involved in the Summerfield shooting incident.
During the investigation it was revealed that Farfaglia is a convicted felon and he was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was taken to the Marion County Jail.
