
Devere “Tony” Deshaw, 79, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life, Monday, September 15, 2014. Born in Flint, MI he was the son of the late Devere J. and Lucy (Kozlowski) Deshaw. Tony’s career began teaching philosophy at Mercy College and the University of Detroit. He moved into the business world working for Blue Cross of Michigan and General Motors of Detroit and finished his career as Benefits Manager for ZF Batavia. He was a man with a witty sense of humor and a philosophy that embraced life and its goodness. Tony was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed golf and earlier in life coached little league football and hockey. Tony was a Roman Catholic and member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield. Tony is survived by his wife, Victoria, children, Anthony Deshaw (Susan) , Deanna Deshaw, Deborah Cikalo (James) all of Michigan, Theodore Deshaw, The Villages, Darrell Deshaw, Arizona, Dana Tucich (Peter), North Carolina and four grandchildren, Jenna, Noah, Luke and Solise. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation to be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd. The Villages on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, The Villages, on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 8:30 a.m.. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Passionists or the American Diabetes Association.
