The Villages Twirlers and Drum Corps are prepping for their fifth appearance in the Florida Citrus Parade.
The annual event kicks off at 10 a.m. Dec. 30 in downtown Orlando.
For the first time, the Twirlers also have been invited to participate in the pre-parade show, said the group’s captain, Ann Pelle.
“We have been burning the midnight oil adding extra practices,” Pelle said.
The parade will be shown locally New Year’s Day on WFTV.
“We are very proud to represent The Villages,” she added. “Seniors rock!”
The Minnesota Golden Gophers have been selected to play the Missouri Tigers in the 2015 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl. The New Year’s Day classic will kick off in its traditional 1 p.m. slot from the new Orlando Citrus Bowl stadium and will be televised nationally by ESPN on ABC.
