MULBERRY 16 HUMANA 15
Mulberry surrendered a 7 run lead in the top of the 7th inning that tied the game but came back with one run in the bottom of the inning to survive. The winning run came on a walk off single from Bob Buchanan and kept Mulberry in first place. Tim Carroll(2 RBI’s) and Tom Bortle(3 RBI’s) led the win with 4 hits each. Chuck Bowman(3 RBI’s), manager Ken Scanlon, Ralph Furbush(2 RBI’s) and pitcher RJ Jackson all added 3 hits in the win. In the loss, Jim Gordon, Paul Justice(3 RBI’s) and Dave Oatley(2 RBI’s) all had 3 hits for Humana.
HARLAN 18 IHOP 14
Harlan scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning, 4 coming after 2 outs, and pulled out the victory. That inning was highlighted by a leadoff homerun from Kirby Campanella and was topped off by a 2 run triple by winning pitcher Bruce Harlan. Chuck Alexander, Jim Rogers and Jack Nagle all had 3 hits and 3 RBI’s while John Barracto had a solo homer for Harlan. Bobby DePace had 4 hits for IHOP while Tom Bolte added 3 hits and 4 RBI’s.
ARDEN 12 FROSS & FROSS 10
Arden broke a 10 to 10 tie with 2 runs in the last of the 5th inning and held Fross scoreless over the last 2 innings for the win. Ed Haith had 4 hits in the win while Jim Morton and Bill Nisbet both added 3 hits and 1 RBI. Manager Jim Allison also had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s. Fross was led by Dick Petula’s 3 hits while John Reedy, Al DuBuc(2 RBI’s), Craig Dahlquist(1 RBI), Dave Pope(1 RBI) and pitcher Jim Moyer(1 RBI) all added 2 hits.
