Mulberry built a 5 to 1 lead and held off IHOP to remain alone in first place. Each batter in the lineup had 1 hit in the win. Denis Hodge and Wayne Mallory(2 RBI’s) led IHOP in the tough luck loss with 3 hits each. In addition, Jim Crabtree, Bob DePace and Roger Duncan all added 2 hits.
SYNERGY 11 HUMANA 6
Synergy scored 5 runs in the 5th inning and held Humana scoreless the rest of the way for the win. They had a balanced attack with Bob Kelly, Jeff Bekasi(2 RBI’s), Don Mulneix, Tony Prettitore, pitcher Jim Glover(2 RBI’s), manager Vernon Brooks, and Andy Betanzos all banged out 2 hits. In the loss Dave Oatley and sub Bob Roth both had 3 hits while Paul Justice, Mike Hyott and John Hoover all added 2 hits.
HARLAN 11 ARDEN 6
In the win, Harlan got 3 hits each from Kirby Campanella(3 RBI’s), Jack Nagle, Wayne Grunewald and manager Sante Tulli. Tom Ceglie added 2 hits and 2 RBI’s. George Kennedy led Arden with 3 hits and 2 RBI’s while Ed Haith, Marty Berger(2 RBI’s), Jim Morton and Bud Ramsey each added 2 hits.
