Tied with Mulberry going into the final week, Synergy took care of business by defeating IHOP while Mulberry lost, crowning Synergy as champions. Rick Duemler led the victory with 3 hits and 4 RBI’s while Mark Hildebrand chipped in with 3 RBI’s. In addition, Bob Kelly, Jeff Bekasi, Ed DeMaio, Tony Prettitore, manager Vernon Brooks, Paul Hein and Andy Betanzos all added 2 hits in the big win. IHOP was led by Roger Duncan, Bob DePace and Bob Jacques who all had 3 hits.
ARDEN 17 MULBERRY 11
Arden outscored Mulberry 13-5 over the last 5 innings to dash Mulberry’s hopes for a championship season. In the win, Ed Haith and Manny Sanchez(4 RBI’s) both had 4 hits while Bill Nisbet and manager Jim Allison(2 RBI’s) both added 3 hits. In the disappointing loss, Mulberry was led by RJ Jackson(3 RBI’s), Tom Bortle and John Buchanan who each had 3 hits. Six other players each added 2 hits apiece.
HARLAN 8 FROSS & FROSS 4
Harlan scored 4 runs in the 6th inning to defeat Fross&Fross. Five players, Ed Moriariity, Chuck Alexander, John Barracato, manager Sante Tulli and sub Rick Poland had 2 hits each for Harlan. In the loss, John Reedy had 2 hits while Dave Pope had a 2 run triple.
