The new PDQ restaurant is going up rapidly at Colony Plaza shopping center in The Villages.
PDQ – People Dedicated to Quality – is a fast casual restaurant specializing in fresh hand-battered chicken tenders, made-to-order sandwiches, daily cut fries, hand-spun milkshakes and fresh salads.
The new PDQ is being built at 300 Colony Boulevard, next door to McDonalds.
It will be the 26th PDQ location in Florida. The next nearest PDQ is in Ocala.
PDQ restaurants are also located in Alabama, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas.
Outback Steakhouse co-founder Bob Basham and MVP Holdings CEO Nick Reader are the two principle owners of PDQ. The partners spent more than two years developing the concept behind the brand and the quality of the food and establishments. On Oct. 30, 2011, the original PDQ restaurant opened its doors in Tampa.
