A dead Villager’s abandoned home was the subject of a deed compliance hearing Monday at the District Office at Brownwood.
The home at 9620 SE 168th Maplesong Lane in the Village of Woodbury is owned by the Norma L. Gary Life Estate. She is deceased. Her son is the trustee, but the District does not have a valid phone number for him. It is unclear if there is a mortgage on the property.

A complaint was lodged April 7 regarding a broken window, a coffee table on the lawn, and overgrown grass and weeds. When Community Standards went to investigate the situation, broken glass was found and a broken lamppost was spotted. The driveway is dirty, but the District cannot enforce pressure washing standards due to the drought.
The special master hearing the case granted seven days for the property to be brought into compliance. If it is not brought into compliance, the District will begin maintaining the property at a cost of $250 per occurrence.
