A homeowner is benefitting from a provision that The Villages cannot mandate driveway pressure washing during the drought.
The home of Dewey Burton at 8205 SE 169th Palowina Loop in the Village of Calumet Grove was subject of a deed compliance hearing this week at the District Office at Brownwood.

A complaint had been lodged on Feb. 18 regarding weeds and mold on the driveway at the property.
While the District had the authority to order the homeowner to ensure the weeds were removed within seven days, there is nothing to be done about the dirty driveway.
The Southwest Florida Water Management District has declared a Phase III water shortage through July 1. During that time homeowners associations and community development districts cannot require pressure washing to remove mold from properties.
That’s probably good news for Burton’s daughter who lives out of state and has been trying to manage her father’s property. She has previously notified Community Standards and made it known that she has been having trouble finding a landscaper for her father’s property.
