
State Sen. Alan Hays, R-Umatilla, has applied to be the next president of Lake-Sumter State College. If chosen, Hays would succeed Charles Mojock, who will retire at the end of the year.
Hays spoke Monday night to the Villages Conservative Action Group Florida at Mulberry Grove Receation Center.
There have been 50 applicants for the president’s job.
The Presidential Search Committee will pare down the list to 10 or 12 candidates this week.
