A pedestrian escaped serious injury after being hit by a car in front of Dollar Tree at Lady Lake Crossing at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The pedestrian, identified as 76-year-old Shirley Marlene Baudin of Lady Lake, was transported from the scene of the accident by EMS personnel from Lake County Fire Rescue. She was taken to The Villages Regional Hospital.
The vehicle, driven by 83-year-old Jean Hannah Prather of Leesburg, had reached a marked white stop bar and stop sign and was attempting to turn left when the vehicle hit the pedestrian, according to a preliminary report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
Prather was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
