To the Editor:
On Monday, we met friends for lunch at Mallory Hill. We made our way to our golf cart only to find a flat tire. We were at a complete loss as to how to resolve this problem as our friends had already left. I went in to the pro shop at Mallory to ask for a telephone directory and a gentleman asked what the problem was. Having explained it to him he said he could help. He put a spare wheel on and said not to hurry to bring it back. He was Don, the pro there and couldn’t have been more helpful. We went to pick up the repaired tire from Gordon’s Garage, but they were too busy to change it – once again, Don to the rescue. What could have been a disaster was averted by Don. As we leave to return to Scotland permanently we have such wonderful memories of kind, helpful people such as Don.
