Joseph William Fennell

Joseph William Fennell, 76, of Tequesta, FL and Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015. Born in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late Joseph L. Fennell and Margaret B. Fennell. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, first with the Seabees and then on a submarine, the USS Sea Poacher. Joe’s love of the water and boats led him to establish Liberty Yachts in 1976 and to design and build ocean going sailboats and sport fishermen for 25 years. He was a lover of nature and was happiest when he was in the woods or canoeing down a river. Joe is survived by his wife, Nancy and daughters Elizabeth F. Young and husband Bo Young, Katherine F. Cullen and husband Brian Cullen, and Christine F. Stange and husband D.J. Stange; brother Lee C. Fennell and wife Elizabeth Fennell and their four children.
