The Villages Old Time Radio Drama Club and The Villages Old Time Radio Players donated $1,000 to Corrections Foundation, Inc. an organization that accepts donations for the The Sumter Correctional Institution on behalf of the Florida Department of Corrections.
The donation goes to The Sumter Correctional Institution in Bushnell for the purpose of helping replace an aging and leaking roof of the 52-year-old chapel building.
Charlie Horrell of the Village of Pinellas, a long-time volunteer with the prison ministry at the Sumter facility, accepted the donation on behalf of Senior Chaplain John N. Hope for the Chapel in the Sumter Corrections Institution in Bushnell.

Representing The Villages Old Time Radio Drama Club and Players were Ed Williams (Village of Virginia Trace), Joan Teets (Village of Sanibel), and Vince Maury (Village of Santo Domingo.
“What better way to show the spirit of giving at this time of year than to make it possible for religious services to be conducted in a dry chapel,” Teets said.
