Some tickets still remain for entertainer Donna Moore’s benefit concert for The Villages’ Community Emergency Response Team set for Friday, Jan. 22 at North Lake Presbyterian Church.
Tickets are $10 and can be obtained by calling 753-9664.
Tickets will also be available at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
The fundraiser comes at a time when CERT faces significant financial challenges.
As formal funding continues to dwindle, CERT must now rely on charity events, to provide funding for training materials and disaster preparedness supplies.
CERT trains citizens in disaster preparedness as well as how to provide initial assistance to their families, neighbors and community during large medical emergencies or disasters, such as hurricanes and tornados. In addition, CERT provides first aid and traffic control services at virtually every major event, parade or Veterans Memorial Park service in The Villages.
