Tuesday saw the Central Florida League complete week 8 in its Winter 2016 season.
Synergy Wealth defeated Arden Jewelers 16-4 in the first game of the morning.
Synergy was lead by its first 3 batters: Doug St.Andrews, Jim Creed, and Rick Deumler, who all had 3 hits. Duemler had a pair of doubles and a 3 run homer to drive in 5 runs. Six other players had 2 hits each as Synergy collected 23 hits. Arden Jewelers only managed 8 hits off of pitcher Gary Lewis. Bob Nizlek had a solo homer to start the bottom of the 2nd. Jack Meagher was the only player to get 2 hits. Manager, Jim Allison had a double to drive in 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th.
Softball’s R Game 14 battled to beat Paul Davis Restoration 11.
The other early game saw a battle between the top teams end in a Softball’s R Game win, 14-11 over Paul Davis Restorations. Softball’s R Game had 3 hits each by Don Mulneix, Bill Dunkley, and Bill Yeager. Jim Stencil added an insurance homer in the top of the 7th. Pitcher Ed Krisha helped himself with a single and a triple to drive in 4 runs. Dick Smith, Gerry Street, and sub Bill Naasz all had 2 hits and drove in 5 runs. Paul Davis’s offense was led by Chick Cicatelli’s 3 hits and 3 rbis. Bob Buchanan, Bob DePace, Phil Palma, pitcher Jim Moyer, and manager Jeff Bekasi all contributed 2 hits in the losing cause.
IHOP defeated Harlan Insurance 18-7.
IHOP’s lead off batter, Bob Cramer, was perfect with 4 hits. Duane Broschat, Jerry Jensen, Ron Goldman,and Tim Healey all had perfect 3 for 3 days. Wayne Mallory had a 2 run homer in the first inning, while Dan MacPherson had a triple and a single to drive in 4 runs. Harlan’s best hitters, all with 2 hits, were: Charles Clare, Ken Atkinson, Ray Bedford, Tom Ceglie, Bob Whiteley, George Kennedy, and manager Sante Tulli. Vinny Caso had a solo homer to start the 2nd inning.
Fross & Fross scored in every inning to defeat Humana 25-7.
Fross was led by pitcher Jim Joseph who was 4 for 4. Also having perfect days with 3 hits and a walk were: Tom Bortle, John Gouin, and Carl McWilliams. Others with 3 hits were: Ron Rowe, Jim Wheeler, and Ed Chirumbolo. Humana had lead off batter Tom Ramberg with 3 hits, including a 2 run homer. Dave Oatley, Gary Luck, Ed Bergheimer, Scott King, and manager, Jim Sherman all had 2 hits in the loss.
The closest game of the day saw Mulberry Integrative Medicine beat Babiarz Law 5-4.
Mulberry’s Mark Goodwin had 2 solo homers and a double. Paul Justice was also perfect with 3 hits. George Loew and Mike Bernbach had 2 hits in the win. Babiarz turned a league record 5 double plays as the defense kept them in the game. Bud Ramsey, Felix Rodriguez, John Charles, and Ralph Furbush had 2 hits each for Babiarz. The final game of the day saw 3 Amigos defeat Buffalo Crossing 16-12. The Amigos had perfect days from Rod Severson and Tom Fulton, each with 4 hits. Mark Hildebrand was also perfect with 2 hits, a sacrifice fly, and a walk that accounted for 4 rbis. Bill Pauldine, Dave Hinkley, John Ashby, Al DuBuc, and manager, Wayne Grunewald all had 2 hits. Buffalo Crossing was led by Roger Duncan’s 3 hits. They also had 2 hits each from: Joe DeGeorge, Joe Cataldi, John Hoover, Jim Harrison, Bob Fowler, and pitcher, Gary Arnold.
