CERT of the Villages will present the Federal Emergency Management Course on Surviving an Active Shooter on Saturday, March 12 at the Manatee Recreation Center.
The course was created by FEMA to inform unarmed citizens on how to maximize their chances of surviving an incident where a shooter, or shooters, are indiscriminately shooting at citizens in a workplace, a place of worship or an entertainment facility.
Those attending must present a valid Villages resident ID card or a valid Villages guest ID with a photo ID in order to be admitted to the presentation.The presentation is approximately two hours and will begin at 10 a.m.
