To the Editor:
PLEASE, NO DOGS at the Squares. The Squares are for people to enjoy walking around, listening to the music, dancing to the music, shopping. I don’t like to have to walk around the dogs, or have them come up and lick my feet. I don’t want to worry about getting tangled up in their leashes or worry about stepping on them. Not all pet owners pick up after their dogs, and my friend stepped in “it” one day. It is not up to the The Villages to provide plastic baggies to these pet owners, nor provide doggie bowls for water. The Squares are crowded enough with people walking around, without adding their pets. I’ve seen pet owners DRAG their pets when it’s been hot and the poor dog’s feet must have been burning. It gets hot on that pavement and they get thirsty. It’s not up the The Villages to supply water bowls for their pets…..and I certainly don’t want to walk around a bunch of bowls of water on the Square. I understand people love their pets, but LOVE them at home.
