A Villages-owned home on Beechwood Avenue on the Historic Side of The Villages was systematically stripped of siding, windows and flooring in broad daylight.

The Villages had purchased the home at 812 Beechwood Ave. as part of the ongoing revitalization effort that has seen numerous old manufactured homes being replaced with site-built homes.

Between July 1 and 14, the Beechwood Avenue home was stripped of anything of value, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The interior of the home was gutted.

Neighbors told police they saw groups of people coming in and out of the home. One of the men told a neighbor he was a “handyman.” A black BMW was reportedly spotted at the home.

The incident remains under investigation by police.
