Deliver the Difference urgently needs volunteers to help pack 50,000 meals this Saturday at a church in northwest Lake County. The highly-nutritious meals will be provided to needy children and families through schools, food pantries, homeless ministries, and crisis shelters in Lake and Sumter counties.
The packing event, for which volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church of The Villages, 15421 U.S. Highway 301, Summerfield.
Volunteers are needed for 9 to 11 a.m. and for 12:00 noon to 2 p.m.
Volunteers may sign up to help at www.DeliverTheDifference.org. Donations are also needed to help cover the cost of the food to be included in the packaging event, and checks may be mailed to Deliver the Difference, P.O. Box 950, Eustis, FL 32727.
Deliver the Difference is a leading organization in the fight against hunger in Lake and Sumter counties. This year, Deliver the Difference has a goal of providing 350,000 specially-packaged meals to needy local children and families.
